Which websites will feature on WebTop100?

This year’s WebTop100 is just around the corner. As always, AITOM has several irons in the fire this year. We’ve submitted a total of 12 different projects.

“All AITOM team members nominated projects for WebTop100; everyone was free to submit any successful project. We received twice as many internal nominations as we expected, but in the end we selected the most technically interesting ones. Selecting just those we’ll actually submit was a challenge. We assessed technical innovation, graphic design, and marketing and business results. Now we just hope the jury will be as enthusiastic about the projects as we are,” says Development Director Tomáš Odl about the project selection.

WebTop100 is a prestigious competition that selects and recognises the best internet projects from the past year. It assesses graphics, code cleanliness, website content, as well as whether the site is user-friendly and intuitive to use.

The announcement is scheduled for 15 November 2016 in Prague. The expert jury began evaluating the projects halfway through the summer holidays. In the words of the classic: “The die is cast.” Meet the projects we have in the running.

1. Aitom.cz

After two years, we have once again entered our own website into the competition. Over the years, we have improved and refined many aspects. Above all, we have managed to optimise the conversion paths more effectively, and we have also changed the brand’s overall communication strategy. The result? An almost twofold increase in enquiries.

In 2014, we won first prize forthe aitom.cz website. The site is competing in the Marketing and IT Agencies category.

2. Atrium.cz

The website www.atrium.cz is competing in the B2C Trade and Services category. The site belongs to a construction firm specialising in timber-framed buildings.

We designed the graphics for the site, edited all the content and ultimately developed it using our AitomCMS5 content management system. The company’s goal was to build 100 houses a year. After six months of operation, the website generates an average of 133 conversions per month. Average traffic exceeds 23,000 users.

3. Autonacesty.cz

Many people consider WordPress a platform suitable perhaps only for a small blog, but the opposite is true. Impressive websites can be built on WordPress. One such example is the autonacesty.cz website. The site offers long-term van hire for 9 people.

We wanted to prove that it is possible to build an attractive and high-converting website at minimal cost. The basis is a customised template, not bespoke graphics.

The site is aimed primarily at young people, so we put a lot of effort into the copy. The website addresses users informally, and we’ve personified the van they rent out. Because for the site’s owners, the VIVARO isn’t just a means of transport, but a friend who’s practically part of the family.

4. Eurohypoteka.cz

We rarely work for the financial sector. So anyone can work out why we entered Eurohypotéka into the WebTop100.

The company specialises in mortgage brokerage and the recruitment of new brokers. The website aims to attract brokers to collaborate and offer ordinary users an alternative way to arrange a mortgage without the hassle and paperwork.

5. Instructor.cz

PREVENT s.r.o. provides occupational safety training and other mandatory training courses. It is one of the leading promoters of e-learning. It has two brands and two websites on the market – prevent.cz and instructor.cz. And it is the latter that we have chosen for the competition.

We chose it because of its more interesting and playful graphics. Do you think they have the potential to make it onto the podium, or will the jury give us a proper run for our money in the end?

6. Krmivo-eminent.cz

We read online that people love cute animals, so just to be on the safe side, we’ve also entered a website full of kittens 🙂 But seriously.

We entered the Krmivo-eminent.cz website as another example of a brand website targeting both the B2B and B2C segments. The site is designed to introduce a little-known brand of pet food to breeders, vets and pet shops alike.

Eminent is a premium pet food range made from top-quality ingredients. In our experience, animals really enjoy it, so we went to great lengths to ensure the website would also impress other breeders and the judging panel.

7. Pivovarsvijany.cz

Do you know what’s rubbish about brewery websites? That they’re all the same. The Svijany Brewery is special to us. For one thing, we like their beer, and we’ve been working together for several years. That’s why we’ve joined forces to create a new website that’s completely different from those of competing breweries.

The site aims to appeal to beer fans and offer them a comprehensive information service. What do you think? Would you raise a glass to the site?

8. Poggenpohl.cz

Not all websites need to sell. Some have completely different conversion goals – such as branding, where metrics like time spent on the site are evaluated. The website of kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl.cz is also a branding site.

You won’t find any flashy ‘Buy Now’ buttons on the site, but rather elegant catalogues and galleries that make you spend hours choosing the perfect kitchen. Poggenpohl is a very well-known and established brand in Germany. Let’s say it’s the Porsche of kitchen manufacturers. Their designs are always stylish, elegant and refined down to the last detail.

9. Randstad.cz

Working with Randstad was a major programming challenge. We needed to integrate the website with their HR system and, at the same time, connect everything to the LMC systems (portály práce.cz, jobs.cz) to reduce the workload for Randstad’s HR staff. Conversely, the graphic designer was a bit downcast, as the website’s visual design is dictated by the corporate style guide.

It was a challenge, but we love a challenge. We nailed the website.

10. Tapito.cz

The Tapito app aims to change the way we follow world events. The app downloads news to your phone based on selected categories and media outlets. This means you only follow what interests you, and you can read the news offline too.

For Tapito, we created a simple, modern microsite to showcase the app’s benefits to both users and potential advertisers. And it worked a treat – the website runs like clockwork.

Everyone at AITOM has already (mandatorily) installed the app. Read on the website why you should have it on your phone too?

11. Vstupnistudie.cz

Do you know how big your target audience is online? We can find out for you. The Initial Study is a specific product that AITOM offers its clients. It consists of a series of initial analyses that allow the client to verify potential in advance, gather data, and thus better prepare their marketing strategy. The microsite www.vstupnistudie.cz showcases the benefits of the service as well as several case studies.

The initial study can also be used as a brief for web developers. For us at AITOM, it has become the foundation without which we wouldn’t even embark on a project.
