Online shopping is rapidly becoming personalised, even in demanding sectors. Whether you’re a gun enthusiast or a staunch pacifist, it’s good to know this and give the configurator a try. So you know what to expect. What has so far been possible with cars, for example, will soon become the norm for other industrial products too. Washing machines? Mobile phones? Toys? Why not? If I want to get my friends and family involved, I set up a gift account. It’s like a private crowdfunding campaign. A link is automatically sent to my loved ones, and I have an online overview of how the money in the account is growing. Thanks, friends!

For the marketing of many industrial sectors, an online configurator could be a brilliant innovation in the near future. A step that brings any complex product within the user’s reach.
