MailChimp is changing its policy: you’ll get automation even on the free plan

On 8 May, MailChimp announced that its automation features would now be free of charge. These are most commonly emails that welcome customers.

What prompted Mailchimp to change its long-standing policy, under which automation was reserved solely for companies that could afford to pay a substantial sum? On the tool’s official blog, you can read:

“At MailChimp, our mission has always been to help small businesses grow. Automation enables our customers to create sophisticated campaigns that help them compete with larger companies. We want to give everyone – regardless of account type or list size – the opportunity to use our automation tools.”

You can still use the free account for up to 2,000 contacts. Want to try automation? MailChimp has prepared a comprehensive guide for you.

What this means is that now everyone can afford an automated campaign. Customer communication can reach a whole new level! At Labeloo, for example, we use an automated message to send a discount on the first purchase. Eurohypotéka and Prevent send educational automated emails.
