8 reasons to have your website built by a web development agency

We were regularly encountering issues with our clients’ servers. Eventually, we decided to expand our services to include hosting and offer our clients a higher standard of service.

1. The developers know the project like no one else

As the agency that created the site, we know best how everything should work. We can therefore configure the server exactly as required so that it works exactly as you want it to.

2. A guarantee that everything runs smoothly

Our servers are looked after by a team of professionals who do nothing else. All day long, they work on how to better maintain the server, what new software has emerged, and how to secure projects against attacks. We take full responsibility for everything and guarantee this service. So if anything on the website isn’t working, you always know exactly who is responsible and who to contact if necessary.

Conversely, we refuse to accept responsibility for the operation of a website if it is not hosted on our server. We simply have no knowledge of the level of maintenance and security, nor of who has access to the server and whether they might damage the project’s source code through unprofessional intervention.

3. Are you ready to develop your project?

Will your project be moving forward? If a development agency manages your server, the possibilities are essentially unlimited. All adjustments and changes can be made immediately.

If someone else manages the server, the communication alone often takes incomparably longer than the change itself.

4. The server is always ready

Are you planning a marketing campaign that will put a strain on the website? Many websites have experienced their pages simply ‘crashing’ during a popular campaign because the server wasn’t prepared for the surge in traffic. If a full-service agency is preparing your campaign, they automatically know to inform the hosting technician.

5. Automatic data transfers (deployment)

Things are constantly changing on a website. You add pages, upload photos, edit a form or a section of code. Normally, you then have to transfer the changes to the server. A whole range of technical errors can occur during the transfer, but you might also upload something incorrectly or forget something. It also extends the time required for the work.

That is why we at AITOM have developed our own deployment system. It acts as a liaison between us as an agency and the server. Deploy monitors the changes we make; as soon as we tell it to, it transfers all the required changes directly to the server (and they appear on your website). We spent a long time developing it to eliminate as many technical errors as possible (we have eliminated human error entirely). It is precisely thanks to automated software that people do not make mistakes.

6. Backups

Just in case, all versions are backed up and recorded using special software called GIT. This means any change can be reversed. AITOM backs up all versions for the past 14 days.

7. Website business results

As a web agency, we often also prepare online marketing strategies for clients and help set website goals. Downtime, damage or data loss caused by poor-quality hosting can therefore result in business losses.

Furthermore, setting up a website on a third-party hosting service is both more time-consuming and more expensive. This one-off fee often covers up to two years of website operation on our server.

8. Control over the server

Updates are carried out on servers, which subsequently affect server functionality. When hosting a website on a third-party server, neither you nor the web developer has any control over whether any changes have taken place. At AITOM, we carry out all work on the server in such a way that it does not restrict any website.

The same applies to subsequent website management and updates. Updates on our server via Deploye are quick and seamless. On a third-party server, you first need to download the website and set up the latest version on our server, carry out the updates, and then upload the changes back to the third-party server. The whole process is more time-consuming and more costly for clients.
